I've been in Victoria for the last few days, and popped along to the MCG for the Australia v Pakistan Test. Pakistan were surprisingly competitive early, with Youhana scoring an excellent first-innings century and then Shoaib Akhtar looking dangerous as Australia struggled in their 1st innings. But the depth of the Aussie batting saw them get the 1st innings points, and then a 2nd-innings collapse by Pakistan saw Australia end up with an easy run chase. Interesting to see the MCG now. The Northern Stand has gone, and the new members stand is starting to take shape. The new grandstand will look awesome when it's finished. And for all the concern about the state of the playing surface after the recent work, it looked and played OK.
