Had a very enjoyable day at the SCG yesterday, at the 3rd day of the Australia v Pakistan Test. It was a frustrating wait for the rain to clear. When it finally did, it didn't help that Shoaib Akhtar took ages to get through his overs; and with so much time already having been lost the crowd was getting restless early on. But then Adam Gilchrist's amazing exhibition had us all captivated. Ricky Ponting's double century was a class act and Shane Watson's debut was solid. Once Ponting and Watson were out, I was expecting a declaration; but it didn't happen and instead we saw Glenn McGrath batting at number 10, for what I suspect is the first time ever. During the change in innings, with still 20 overs left to be bowled today, I thought Pakistan would crumble and lose 4-5 wickets in that time, but they put up a reasonable fight in the 2nd innings. It was a very enjoyable day; and thanks to haydoslangerbabe for making it so much fun.

No worries Mel, it was great fun. ;D BTW, here's another pic I took at the game - this time it's Gilly swinging the bat with another of his big hits.
