It's an hour after lunch on the first day, and I can't believe the cricket I'm watching. Australia is going at 5 per over, but are 6 out already. No thought of building an innings or shaping a partnership - it's entertaining cricket, but at 6/163 it's not particularly effective. Losing Gilchrist was a blow - normally this sort of situation's made for him. Still, there's plenty of movement in this pitch. If we can somehow get up around 300 that could be a good score.

300 probably would have been a good score, but we'll never know now. All out for 190, very disappointing. In reply, England are 0/10 at tea. It'll be a long night - there's still 41 overs to be bowled in the last session. Hopefully the Aussies can get plenty of wickets in that time. Glenn McGrath is on 499 Test wickets, so quite likely there will be a slice of history tonight. Only one player has 500 Test wickets before tonight, that being Courtney Walsh.
