I'm normally good at understanding statistical stuff, but I just can't work out the Duckworth-Lewis system at all. Has anyone else been able to suss it? I was watching the Victoria v WA game on telly today, and when the rain interruption came I was expecting Victoria to be given a higher target to chase. They were only 1 out when the rain came, so a target would have been determined based on that. But I thought under the Duckworth-Lewis system every wicket made the target score needed increase, I don't know why that didn't happen.
But having said that, I thought Victoria were unlucky; and for most of the day were probably the better side. But that last couple of overs from Marcus North and Kade Harvey were sensational, and WA did well to hold their nerves and hang on for the win.
