NSW have been strangely inconsistent this year - I don't think they've won a game at all in the one-day comp, but they're running 2nd in the Pura Cup; and if they can somehow knock off Queensland outright in this one they'll go to top. But it's a big ask against a star-studded Bulls lineup. The other news for NSW is that, after a solid performance in the one-dayer at the Olympic Stadium, James Packman from Gordon has been selected to make his first-class debut. Good luck to Packers.
The game starts on Friday at Bankstown, and I'll be going to all 4 days.

Well, it came down to the wire, but Queensland managed to hold on and avoid a NSW outright. NSW captain Brad Haddin would be regretting not enforcing the follow-on, and then being overdue with his declaration. It's easy to be critical with the benefit of hindsight, with Queensland being 9 wickets down and nowhere near the run target; but even at the time it was clear that NSW batted on way too late this morning. Other highlights of the game were a double-century by Phil Jacques, a fighting hundred against the odds by Clinton Perren and a great spell of containment bowling early on the last day by Andy Bichel which denied NSW the quick runs they were looking for. I took some pics at the game - I'll put some of them up here a bit later.
