Melbourne v Geelong - The Demons have started impressively this year, but will face a tougher contest against the Cats. Geelong lost in the west last week, but it's time for them to step up - Geelong to win.
Carlton v Collingwood - The Magpies have lost both their games, while Carlton fell over the line last week. For the loser, a long hard season awaits; but the Blues look to have a stronger lineup - Carlton to win.
St Kilda v Kangaroos - The Saints had big wraps on them pre-season, but with Riewoldt, Powell and Kositske out it's been a struggle. On the other hand, the shinboner spirit has got the Roos over the line twice, and they'll be confident. But the Saints know it's now or never, and will lift for the occasion - St Kilda to win.
Brisbane v Sydney - Both had a win then a loss, and this game is pivotal. But the Lions have the home ground advantage, which should be enough to get them over the line - Brisbane to win.
Fremantle v West Coast - Plenty of feeling in the WA derby, and plenty of classy players. But the Eagles have the edge in class, with Judd putting in a blinder against the Cats last week. West Coast to win.
Western Bulldogs v Richmond - Both have one win, and the Tigers will be relieved that their losing streak is finally at an end. Plenty of feeling here, particularly when Terry Wallace is involved; but the Bulldogs should have enough to get over the line.
Essendon v Hawthorn - Matthew Lloyd is back, and that will lift the Bombers. It's been a disappointing start for both teams, but the Bombers are too good a side to be down for too long and no line in the sand will help this time - Bombers easily.
